4. | Benjamin Overton Munroe was born on 25 Sep 1838 in , , North Carolina, USA (son of Duncan M. Munroe and Sarah Phillips); died on 23 Jun 1906 in Prob., Haralson Co., Georgia; was buried in Felton, Haralson Co., Georgia, USA, (Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery). Notes:
Benjamin lived in Haralson County, Georgia. He married Millie Caroline Winkles (or Winkle), the daughter of Richard L. and Sarah A. (Williams) Winkles of South Carolina and Georgia.
One reference gives his birth date as 25 Sep 1835 and says that his mother was Elizabeth Phillips, his father's second wife, but the recorded dates of birth of Duncan's children and the death dates of his wives support placing Benjamin as a son of Sarah Phillips, Duncan's first wife.

8. | Duncan M. Munroe was born on 11 Sep 1806 in , Moore Co., North Carolina, USA (son of Malcom Monroe, Jr. and Margaret Black); died on 17 Dec 1896 in , , Georgia, USA; was buried in Felton, Haralson Co., Georgia, USA. Notes:
Duncan was a farmer, carpenter, brick mason and millwright. He and his second wife moved to Paulding County (later renamed Haralson County), Georgia in 1842 and settled on lots of land from the government. He operated a mill that was located on the Tallapoosa River on what was later called Munroe Mill road. The Munroe family ground corn and wheat there for many years.
Duncan owned the first brick home to be built in Haralson County. He donated the land for the Bethlehem Baptist Church.
After the death of his first wife, Sarah (or Pheby or Ann) Phillips, in 1841, Duncan married her sister, Elizabeth Phillips.
He was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church (Bethlehem) where he was active until his death.
He probably died in Haralson County, Georgia. One reference gives his death date as 11 Dec 1896.
The Thomas George Barry reference says Duncan was the son of Malcolm Munroe and Margaret Patterson, but that is probably in error.
