| 12. | Thomas Monro was born on 18 Jan 1765 in Warren, Bristol Co., Rhode Island, USA; was christened on 12 May 1765 in St. Michael's Ch, Bristol, Bristol Co., Rhode Island (son of Doctor Thomas Munroe and Sarah Pearse); died on 11 Mar 1836 in Columbia, Bradford Co., Pennsylvania, USA. Notes:
Thomas was baptized at St. Michael's Church by the first Rev. John Usher. He lived for a time on what was known as the Herreshoff farm on Poppasush, Bristol, RI, which was then on the main road of Bristol leading to the ferry.
In his youth, Thomas learned the tailor's trade, but later he became a farmer.
In Oct 1823, he moved to Columbia, Pennsylvania (Sylvania, Pennsylvania) taking the younger members of his family. He lived there until his death in Bradford County.

Sybil was the daughter of William and Sybil (Smith) Borden, a distinguished family of Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
She is found on the 1850 census of Columbia, Pennsylvania. The census says that she was 75 years old, had $1500 in property, and worked as a "manager of farms." She was living with her son, Abraham.
