  1. 2.  George Munro was born in 1775-1776 in , , , Scotland; died on 9 Aug 1850 in Little Caribou Island, Pictou Co., Nova Scotia, Canada; was buried in , Pictou Co., Nova Scotia, Canada.

    Notes:

    George and his family sailed from Aberdeen, Scotland on the ship "Good Intent" in 1815 and took two to three months passage before arriving in Pictou, Nova Scotia, Canada. They were among several families aboard the "Good Intent" sho settled in Caribou, Pictou Co., Nova Scotia. They lived first on the mainland. In Nov 1833, George bought Little Caribou Island, later known as Munro's Island and containing three hundred acres, from Thomas Dickson, Esq.

    George was a farmer and a ship builder. His will was recorded in Pictou in 1853. His son, George, Jr., administered his father's estate.

    Notes:

    Christian may have been the daughter of Robert and Christian (Gunn or Gun) McBeath.

    The McBeaths were in Kildonan Parish. Mormon records of Kildonan Parish, Sutherland mention a family of McBeaths from Reisk of Arichlinie. Lake Arichlinie is located in Kildonan Parish in the area north of Reisk. It is assumed that this is the place reffered to in the Parish Record of George Munro's marriage to Christian McBeath.
