  1. 1.  George Robertson was born est 1747 (son of John Robertson and Flora Robertson); died on 8 Sep 1820.

    Notes:

    George studied for the ministry at the University and King's College at Aberdeen, where he earned his degree on 30 Apr 1755. He was soon appointed teacher in George Heriot's Hospital in Edinburgh.

    On 27 Jun 1757, he was chosen assistant master of the Grammar School in Campbeltown, Argyleshire, where he remained for two years.

    He later studied theology at the University of Edinburgh and was licensed by the Presbytery of Kintyre on 29 Apr 1761. He was appointed assistant to the Rev. Charles Stewart, minister of the First Charge, Campbeltown, and was ordainedto the Second Charge on 27 Jel 1763.

    He received the degree of D.D. from the Uiversity of Galsgow in Nov 1795.

    He was married and had children.

  1. 14.  George Munro, Of Limlair was born about 1664 in Of, Limlair, Scotland (son of Capt. Robert Munro, Of Limlair and Jean MacKenzie); died about 1738.

    Notes:

    George served as Commissioner of Supply for Ross in 1695 and 1704.

    George took a great interest in the affairs of his native parish. He was an elder in Kiltearn, and worked with others to get a school built in the parish and to secure an income for a qualified schoolmaster. The first schoolmaster chosen was Robert Robertson, appointed on 27 May 1717.

    On 21 Nov 1726, George reported to the Session the "indigent condition of Anna Munro, relict of the late George Munro in Knockankirn." The Session appointed a half boll of meal to be giver to her out of the funds of the mortcloth dues.

    He possessed some lands in the parish of Alness, and was one of the Commissioners from the Presbytery of Dingwall to the General Assembly of 1727.

    His last appearance in the minutes of the Session Records of Kiltearn was on 2 Sep 1728.

    He sold Limlair to Dr. Duncan Munro in 1738 and probably died soon after.
