| 10. | Edwin Monroe was born on 30 May 1817 in , Tioga Co., New York, USA (son of Joshua Monroe and Julia Almira Fairchild); died on 31 Jan 1897 in Farmersville, Posey Co., Indiana, USA; was buried in Black Twp, Posey Co., Indiana, USA. Notes:
Edwin's biography in the 1888 Posey County, Indiana history says he was born in Cuyahoga County, New York. There is no such county and it is believed that he was born in Tioga County, New York.
His tombstone inscription reports that he was born 30 May 1813. Other sources say 1815 or 1817.
Both of his parents were dead by the time he was thirteen to eighteen years of age, and he was obliged to support himself at that age.
In 1835, Edwin purchased land from the US Vincennes land Office. He sold the same parcel less than a year later and then purchased a lot in the town of Mount Vernon in 1845.
The 1850 census of Posey County, Black Township lists Edwin as a 33 year old farmer born in Connecticut and owning $1800 in property.
The 1860 census says he was a 43 year old farmer born in New York.
Edwin is found on the 1880 census of Black Township, Posey County, Indiana as a 65 year old farmer, but he is called Edward.
Edwin died of influenza at his home near Farmsville.

| 11. | Miranda Jane McFadden was born on 18 Jul 1824 in McFadden Bluff, Posey Co., Indiana, USA; died on 24 Jul 1884 in Mount Vernon, Posey Co., Indiana, USA; was buried in Bellefontaine Ce, Mt. Vernon, Posey Co., Indiana. Notes:
Miranda (or Maranda) Jane was the daughter of Joseph (or Andrew) and Missuria (or Nancy) (North) McFadden. Andrew "Tweedle Dum" McFadden was a noted hunter and close friend of Daniel Boon and James Audubon.
One reference says Miranda was born in Iowa. Family legend says that her mother, her future mother-in-law, and she were attacked by Indians in 1828 close to the Ohio River in the vicinity of Mount Vernon, Posey County, Indiana. The two older ladies were killed and Miranda was half scalped. She bore the scars from this injury for the rest of her life.
Miranda is found on the 1850 census of Black Township, Posey County, Indiana as age 26, on the 1860 census as age 35, and on the 1880 census as age 55.
