| 4. | Elijah Munroe was born on 10 May 1798 in Hillsborough, Hillsborough Co., New Hampshire, USA (son of Dr. Joseph Munroe and Azuba Henry); died on 18 Feb 1878 in Hillsborough, Hillsborough Co., New Hampshire, USA. Notes:
Elijah lost his left hand at the age of ten when a gun he was holding exploded.
He settled first at Upper Village, but upon being appointed High Sheriff in 1845, he moved to Amherst, New Hampshire, where he lived for ten years. He then returned to Hillsborough.

| 8. | Dr. Joseph Munroe was born on 13 Jun 1757 in Billerica, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, USA (son of Joseph Munroe and Hannah); died on 24 Feb 1798 in Hillsborough, Hillsborough Co., New Hampshire, USA; was buried in Hillsborough, Hillsborough Co., New Hampshire, USA. Notes:
Joseph studied medicine with Dr. Francis Kittredge, of Tewksbury, Massachusetts. He settled in Hillsborough, New Hampshire near the Centre on the Dunbar Place about 1784. He was the second physician in the town.
Doctor Munroe had an extended practice reaching into the adjoining towns. He made call upon call among his patients at a time when sickness was exceptionally prevalent for three successive days without rest or sleep until the unusual exertion brought on the brief illness which resulted in his death at an early age.
Joseph and Azuba had several other children who are not listed.
Joseph's gravestone says he died 2 Feb 1798 - age 41.
