    John's wife was a United Empire Loyalist. They received a loyalist grant in 1803 in Matilda Township, Ontario, Canada. In 1852, John was living with his son, Alexander Hector in Mountain Township (just outside Inkerman). He was described as John A. Munro, 82, widowed, and of Scottish birth.

    His wife was the daughter of Marten Middaugh of Osnabruck Township.

    In 1789, Alexander is found in Cornwall, Cornwall Township, Stormont County, Ontario, Canada. He had apparently emigrated from Inverary, Argyleshire, Scotland along with his wife, two boys and two girls to Matilda, Dundas County, Canada.

    He died in 1802 leaving various parcels of land in Cornwall Township as well as Matilda Township which is three townships west in Dundas County.
