David lived in Camillus, Onondago County, New York.
Ref (2) says that Electa Smith was the mother of David's children, but the date of his marriage to Mary Hill and the birthdates of the children suggest that Mary Hill was their mother as ref (1) claims.
David carried on the balance of the home farm inherited from his father and lived in the original Munro house until the 1860's when he built a house on the lot next west, later remodeled into the Green Gate Inn.
He and his brother, James Madison Munro, were instrumental in establishing the Free Soil Republican Party in Camillus in 1852.

In 1807, David married Abigail Carpenter, and the next year, he bought a farm. The house he built on this land was the third to be constructed in the village of Camillus.
In "History of Onondaga County", Clayton said of David, "His manner of address was courteous but impressive, and his knowledge of men and events of the day unsurpassed."
The May reference says that David's parents were Nathan Munro [11521] and Alice Hazard (or Haszard) [11522].
