10. | Malcom Monroe was born in 1774 in , , , Scotland (son of Monroe); died on 23 Jul 1846. Notes:
Malcom (or Malcolm or Malcomb) Monroe was born in Scotland. When he was 18 years old, he and two brothers went to America. He settled in North Carolina and his two brothers setteld in Virginia. His wife, Celia (or Mary) Moody, was a native of South Carolina.
It is said that Malcolm was a cousin of President James Monroe.
The story of Malcom's emigration to the United States is almost identical to that attributed to his grandfather. It is probable that the two generations have been confused in some way.
