Alfred H. Monroe

Notes:

Alfred was called Captain Monroe probably because of his profession as waterman. In 1850, he was a farmer with $1000 in property living in Jamaica, Queen's County, New York.

His age is stated as 35 years in the 1850 New York census, and as 60 in the 1860 census.
