    Notes:

    Rebecca's husband was possibly the son of Jonathan Knapp.

  1. 2.  Amos Monroe was born on 9 May 1704 in Norwalk, Fairfield Co., Connecticut, USA (son of David Monroe and Elizabeth Ted); died in 1756 in Ridgefield, Fairfield Co., Connecticut, USA.

    Notes:

    Amos and Sarah were married before 1727. Amos was a member of the Wilton Congregational Church in 1727. He and Sarah were dismissed from the congregation in 1740. Some of their children were baptised at Greenfield Hill Church.

    In Norwalk, Fairfield, County, there are many land transfers from Amos to others between 1732 and his death. ONe piece of land went to his daughter, Rebeckah on 23 Oct 1733, and to his brother, Solomon on 17 May 1734.

    He sold land in Norwalk to his son, Amos, in 1756, probably in anticipation of his death. The administration of his estate was granted to his widow, Sarah, on 6 Dec 1756 and on 7 Mar 1757, she was appointed guardian to Charles, Levinah, Squire and Deborah, the children of Amos, with William "Manrow" as surety. Her daughter, Betty, also chose her mother as guardian. Her son, David, chose Mr. Matthew Seymour of Ridgefield and his guardian on 5 Dec 1757. Her son Charles, chose his brother, William, as his guardian on 24 Mar 1763.

    In 1758, Sarah released her dower interest in Norwalk lands to her son Amos of East New Jersey, her daughter, Sarah Manrow of Ridgefield, and Obadiah Wood and Anna his wife of Salem, Westchester County, New York.

  1. 4.  David Monroe was born in 1665 in Huntingdon, Long Island, New York, USA (son of Hugh Munro); died on 10 Sep 1733 in Norwalk, Fairfield Co., Connecticut, USA.

    Notes:

    Whether David was a son of Hugh has not been proved, but it is probable. At his marriage, he is surnamed "Roe alias MunRoe". John lived at West Neck near what is now called Bouton's Point. He came from London as a servant in the family of Samuel Gunseld in 1637 at the age of 19.

    David's second wife was the widow of Ephraim Beers.

    He sold property in Norwalk, Fairfield County, Connecticut to the town on 3 Mar 1709/10. There are many land transfers from David to his sons and others in Norwalk from 1721 through his death.

    David's will dated 1 Mar 1731 and probated 20 Sep 1733 names his wife, Rebecca, son Amos "Monrow", Daughter Elizabeth Wood and her son David Wood, grandson David Monrow "son to my son in Law Joseph Monrow", Daughter Levina Morehouse, daughter Experience Norris, daughter Martha Beers ("her mother-in-law my wife"), daughter Bethiah Bagley, daughter Christian Sanders, granddaughter Mary Miller, land adjoining my son Solomon Monrow's land, grandson David son of my son Solomon Monrow, sons Solomon and Amos, Joseph Platt and Solomon Monrow, Executors

    He lived in Norwalk, Connecticut and Berkshire County, Massachusetts.

    Notes:

    Hugh may have been banished to America after the battle of Worcester along with his brother, John, and uncle, Robert. Robert, John and Hugh Munrow were listed as prisoners shipped from London on 11 Nov 1651 on the "John & Sarah", bound for Boston, Massachusetts.

    He apparently settled in Long Island, New York.

    His wife was of Bristol, Bristol County, Rhode Island.
