"Hugh of Teaninich married Katherine daughter to Wm. Duff provost of Inverness by whom he had Hugh now of Teaninich James Elizabeth Magdalen married to Kiltearn and Janet."

Catherine was the daughter of William Duff of Drummuir, Provost of Inverness. She received from her father, 9000 merks Scots as her marriage portion.

On 15 May 1729, Catherine, now a widow, granted a sasine in favor of Duncan Simson of Nether Culcraggie of an annual rent of 120 merks from the rents of those lands.
